Christiana Stich Christiana Stich has been a yoga practitioner since 1995, when she enrolled in her first class in Tokyo, Japan. She noticed the calm, ease and reduced stress that she began to find in her body and mind as a result of practicing asanas (postures/body movements), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. Since then she has expanded her practice through personal self-study and has studied under master instructors including Rod Stryker, Donna Farhi, Shiva Rea, Ramanand Patel, Rodney Yee and Judith Lasater.Christiana incorporates a practical, fun approach to yoga instruction, focusing on proper posture and alignment for increased flexibility, strength and endurance. She encourages students of all ages and abilities to allow the practice of yoga to unfold and reveal its beauty and peace in their own way. Christiana's goal for students revolves around developing greater strength, flexibility and a calmer, more peaceful mind. She places an important emphasis on moving with the breath as well as an awareness of physical alignment that incorporates a body/mind/spirit connection. |

Laurence Juthy Laurence began her journey in yoga in 2003, when attending a Bikram yoga class. All she knew after the class is that she loved the practice itself, and that yoga will always be part of her life, but in a cooler room! She then tried different styles, and practiced Power yoga and Hatha yoga intensively. For many years she has been a student of Mitra Valatabar, who studied under Amrit Desai, and learned a lot from her.In 2010, she started practicing Ashtanga yoga regularly and completed her 200 hours of Ashtanga teacher training certification in Brazil. She is now a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (200 hour RYT). In 2011, she went to India for another month-long training to deepen her practice and to learn more about yoga philosophy and ayurveda. She has attended numerous workshops and trainings sessions, including events led by David Swenson, David Williams, Tiffany Cruikshank, and Melanie Fawer. Her previous job as an engineer brought her stress and tension that she found she could release through yoga. Since 2009, her focus has changed from engineering to practicing and teaching yoga as well as raising her little daughter. Her constant practice throughout the years showed her that yoga is much more than just a physical practice: it is one of the many paths to a spiritual life. Over time, she noticed that her practice brought her physical and mental strength and flexibility as well as a calmer mind. It also enabled her to find a peaceful place to go to within herself. We all come to practice for different reasons, at different stages in our life, and as we are. This creates a richness of different energies from which one can learn a lot. She is passionate about learning and sharing practice and knowledge with teachers and students, and she will always be a student on a path of self-discovery and improvement on and off the mat. |
